Death

POLKTON – On Monday, June 19, 2023, Mrs. Kathryn Furr Treadaway, 74, passed away peacefully at her home with her family gathered by her bedside. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, June 22, 2023 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Kathryn was born June 6, 1949 in Union County, NC and was a daughter of the late Henry Carl Furr and the late Rachel Virginia Floyd Furr. She was a graduate of Anson High School and had worked at Dawson/West Knitting Mills in Wadesboro. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Charles P. Treadaway; her children, Kathy Treadaway and Michael Treadaway (Jamie) both of Polkton and Taaffee Treadaway (Dean Sellers) of Lilesville; her grandchildren, Dillon Burr and Chase Burr both of Polkton, Brittany Burr (Devonta Locklear) of Wadesboro, Chloe Treadaway of Polkton, Shalar Sellers (Hannah Carpenter) of Hamlet, Charles Sellers (Christy Thompson) and Jacob Sellers both of Lilesville and her brother, Kenny Hildreth of Polkton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Furr.
