Death
POLKTON — Mrs. Rachel Floyd Furr, 83, died Saturday, August 18, 2001 at her home. She was born April 11, 1918 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Merritt E. and Belle Helms Floyd. Mrs. Furr was a member of Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church and was preceded in death by her husband Henry Furr. Funeral services for Mrs. Furr will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 20, 2001 in Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. DruSilla Ingold and Rev. Johnny Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery. The family will greet friends tonight (Sunday) 7-8:30 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro. Surviving are her children, Henry Furr, Jr., Kenny Hildreth, and Katheryn Treadaway all of Polkton; her sisters, Margie Floyd of Monroe and Efrida Younger of Raleigh; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Anson County, 117 Wortham St., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
