Death
Mrs. Jack A. (Janie) Travis, Four Grove Park Place, died while visiting Broadway, England. Services are 3:30 p.m. today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home chapel with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation is 3 t0 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Mrs. Travis was a native of Jackson and daughter of the late Beth Ayers and William Bonner McCarty. She was educated in the Jackson schools, Sullen College and the University of Mississippi. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority, First Presbyterian Church and the Junior League of Jackson. She was interested in gardening and interior decorating. Her husband, Jack Travis, serves as a judge in Hinds County. Other than her husband, she is survived by her sons, John Alna Travis III and William Barrett Travis, both of Jackson; brother William Bonner McCarty Jr. of Jackson; sister, Mrs. Betty McCarty Edwards of Jackson, and a number of nieces and nephews.Clarion-Ledger, Jackson, Mississippi, August 28, 1984
