Death
Asheboro — Miss Vera Gladys Davis, 40, died suddenly Sunday morning about 3:30 o'clock at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome C. Davis of Glenola. She had been in her usual health until a short time before her death. Surviving in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Mrs. J. A. Shipton of Glenola, and Miss Helen Davis of the home; two brothers, Dan C. Davis and Hayes Davis, both of the home; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Mt. Vernon Methodist Church near Glenola, by the pastor, the Rev. Mr. Strickland, and the Rev. O. L. Ruth of High Point. Interment will be in the church cemetery.The News and Observer, Raleigh, North Carolina, December 9, 1940
