The marriage of Miss Mary Helen Kennard, daughter of the late Mrs. Helen Yale Kennard, and Ellsworth Frost Miner look place at Winsted, Conn., on June 7. Death
Ellsworth F. Miner, 63; Utilities Engineer and Active Civic LeaderEllsworth F. Miner, 63, a public utilities rate engineer and active in Arlington civic affairs, collapsed and died of a heart attack yesterday in his office in the Federal Power Commission. Mr. Miner, who lived at 2304 North Jackson street, Arlington, had been a Government engineer here for 17 years. He worked successively for the District Public Utilities Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Army engineers before he went with the FPC. Born in Torrington, Conn., Mr. Miner was graduated from Yale University in 1907. He worked in New York, Boston and Harrisonburg, Va., before coming to Washington. Mr. Miner long had been a member of the Parkway Citizens’ Association in Arlington. He was a delegate to the Arlington Civic Federation and served on several of its committees. He belonged to the Yale Club, the Professional Engineers of Virginia and the Izaak Walton League. For a time he served on the Arlington Public Utilities Commission. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary K. Miner; two sons, three daughters, including Miss Harriet Miner of the Arlington address, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Ives funeral home, Arlington. Burial will be in National Memorial Park Cemetery, Falls Church, Va.
