Graveside services for Mary Oates Crowe, 87, of Hollandale will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the Hollandale City Cemetery. She passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Magnolia Gardens in Greenville. Boone Funeral Home in Leland is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Crowe was born in 1933 to Sidney Preston Oates and Ethel Perkins Oates. Originally from Hayti, Missouri, she attended Southeast Missouri State College and the Mississippi State College for Women (now Mississippi University for Women) before marrying Glenn Edward Crowe in 1953. Mrs. Crowe was a faithful member of the Hollandale Baptist Church and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Eileen Oates Chaffin. She is survived by two daughters: Sue Seratt and her husband Bill of Vicksburg; Kim Furr and her husband David of Hollandale; grandchildren Lamar Furr and his wife Meredith; Mary Mason Furr Bailey and her husband Brandon; and Elizabeth Seratt; and great-grandchildren Marlee Furr, John David Furr, Sydney Elise Bailey, and Allyson Bailey. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to donate to Baptist Children’s Village or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.Endnotes
