Death
Gladys Harris Furr, 84, of Selma, died Thursday, June 25, 1998 at a local hospital. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. John Fain officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Ann (Bill) Stanfield, of Selma and Astor (Ned) Taylor, of Chesapeake, Va.; brother, Percy Webb Harris; a sister, Katie Harris Saxon; granddaughters, Susan Greene (Joe) Helms, Cynthia Greene (Ronald) Hartzog, Mallory Astor Taylor and Blair Vaughn Taylor; a grandson, Marc Sims Taylor, and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Furr was the widow of Jacob Astor Furr. She was a member or First Baptist Church.The Selma Times-Journal, Selma, Alabama, June 28, 1998
