Death

Vicki LaVon Furr, 59, of Blackwell passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. Vicki was born May 19, 1954 in Ponca City, Okla. to Guy E. and Bettie LaVon (Lockwood) Howe. Vicki grew up in Tonkawa, graduating from Tonkawa High School and NOC. She worked for the vet clinic in Blackwell until she started her own business, Vickie's Professional Pet Care in Blackwell. She entered many dog shows throughout the United States. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Tonkawa during her time in Tonkawa and became a member of the Christ Church in Blackwell later in life; also a member of the American Kennel Association. She is survived by her mother, Bettie Howe of Tonkawa, OK; her brothers, Guy R. Howe and his wife, Joyce of Bella Vista, AR, Ron S. Howe and his wife, Patty of Winnfield, KS: her sister in law, Dessa Howe of Tonkawa, OK; and numerous other relatives. She is preceded in death by her father and a brother Roger W. Howe. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Christ's Church with Pastor Milo Davis officiating.
