Death

PLATTSBURGH — Edward James Furr II, 60, of Plattsburgh, died in Malone on April 18, 2012. Born in Houston, Texas, Aug. 4, 1951, he was a son of Edward James and Barbara (Stephens) Furr. On Feb. 1, 1997, he married Julie Estelle Smith in Scribe, N.Y. Mr. Furr was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local 773 of Plattsburgh. He served as trustee for the Union Pension Fund from 1988 to 1998; a member of the Union Executive Board from 1998 until the present; and beginning in 2002, he developed a premiere program and training center for apprentice and journeyman. He was a member of the Turnpike Wesleyan Church. He is survived by his wife, Julie, and a daughter, Mrs. James Ann Smith. The funeral service for Mr. Furr will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Turnpike Wesleyan Church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Spaulding Funeral Home of Malone.
