Death
Mrs. Doris Shaw Furr, 50, of Rt. 1, Pineville, died yesterday at Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Stough Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Grady Faulk, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park. Born April 19, 1927 in Bethune, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Clanton Shaw. She was a member of Stough Memorial Baptist Church, the Believers Sunday School Class, the Women's Mission Union of the church and the church choir. For the past 20 years she was a film inspector for Columbia Pictures and was a member of Women of Motion Pictures and the Indian Land Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 286. Surviving are her husband, Henry Lee Furr Jr.; a son, Ronald Anthony Furr of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Norma Frances Yarbrough of Pineville and Mrs. Doris Lee Parks of Albemarle; three brothers, Melvin Shaw of High Point, Willard Shaw of Asheville and J. B. Shaw of Raleigh; three sisters, Miss Mildred Shaw of Virginia Beach, Va., Mrs. Sara Hopper of Charlotte and Mrs. Mary Evelyn Pierce of Thomasville; and three grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Indian Land Chapter 286, Order of the Eastern Star.
