Death
McComb - There will be a private, graveside service for William Franklin Crawford on Tuesday afternoon, May 8, 2018 at Rosehill Cemetery. Mr. Crawford, 88, of McComb, formerly of Brookhaven, died on May 5, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born on July 31, 1929 to Will Furr Crawford and Lena Moreton Crawford (Mixon) in Brookhaven. He graduated from Copiah-Lincoln High School, and received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was Chairman of the Board of the State Bank and Trust Company for many years, and also served for 39 years on the Board of the Lincoln-Lawrence-Franklin Regional Library Board, a Board member and past president of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder's and Exhibitor's Association, as well as being of member and supporter of local organizations. He was also known for his love of Brookhaven and his knowledge of its' history. Mr. Crawford was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. Precedeing him in death were his wife, Anne Jordan Crawford, and his parents. He is survived by his sister, Roberta Moreton Crawford, of McComb, and his son, Robert Michael Crawford of Brookhaven, many nieces and nephews and cousins. The family would like to appreciate it's great thanks to the staff of Camellia Estates of McComb, and to Hospice Compassass for their loving care and kindness.
