Death

Mr. Jere Paul Furr, age 82, of Cedartown, GA passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at his residence. He was born on December 9, 1934 in Atlanta, GA a son of the late Paul and Ezell Monroe Furr. Mr. Furr had been a resident of Polk County for the past twenty five years moving here from Austell. He enjoyed farming, traveling, fixing things and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. Mr. Furr had worked as a self employed general contractor for many years and was also a farmer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Juewenia Furr Brown on December 9, 2015. Survivors include a daughter, Felicia Furr Gaddis; son, Greg Furr; three sisters: Janet Johnson, Jean Martin and Shelia Crews; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the Furr Farm, 375 Hightower Falls Road, Cedartown on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service at the farm until 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial gifts be made in Mr. Furrs’ memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, W. VA. 25438-0018. The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Jere Paul Furr.
