Death

Jewell Roosevelt Stallings, 80, of Salisbury passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at Rowan Diagnostics Clinic in Salisbury. Jewell was born in Cabarrus County on June 22, 1936 to the late Glaner Furr Stallings and the late Morris C. Stallings. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Independent Linen. He was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esteban (Marie) Moody Stallings on March 31, 2013. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, John Stallings of Rock Hill, S.C.; daughters, Becky Torralba of Salisbury, Cindy Lambert (Johnnie, Sr.) of Granite Quarry and Peggy Glanovsky(Steven, Jr.) of Salisbury; grandchildren: Jennifer Whisnant, Ginger Benware, Chad Torralba, Crystal Lambert, Johnny Lambert Jr., Ronnie Goodnight Jr., Heather Compton, Hannah Ruth, Dylan Myers and Dakota Myers; seven great-grandchildren and two on the way, along with other relatives. Visitation: 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at Franklin Baptist Church, US 601 Salisbury, NC 28147. Family will be at Peggy Glanovsky's residence at other times. Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at Franklin Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Road, Salisbury, NC 28144. Military rites will be accorded by Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
