Death

Horace Moore Penninger 'Buck' Mr. Penninger, 75, of Charlotte, died September 29, 2004 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main. He was born February 3, 1929 in Bedford, Indiana, a son of the late Mammie Helms Penninger and Walter Floyd Penninger. Buck was full of life and lived life to the fullest and will be missed by his family and friends. Buck worked at AMF Carolina Lanes for over 12 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 380. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Horace 'Buck' Moore Penninger will be held at McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2004. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Buck is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen 'Pete' Furr Penninger of the home; two daughters, Donna Penninger of Charlotte, NC, Rhonda Penninger Sadler and husband Edward of Concord, NC; two sisters, Laura Undeen McCall and husband Howard of Charlotte, NC, Avon Leviner and husband Robert of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four grandchildren, Jennifer McAlister of Concord, NC, Amanda Sadler of Concord, NC, Stephen Sadler of Charlotte, NC, and Ricky Sadler of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Penninger was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children, c/o Oasis Temple of the Shrine, 604 Daniel Burnham Way, Charlotte, NC 28213.
