Death
ROCKWELL — The funeral for Mildred McClester Furr will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Lane Street Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Gene Edwards. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will be at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis from 7 until 9 p.m. today. Born Nov 13, 1922, Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late Grover and Fronia Tucker McClester. She retired from Cannon Mills Co. Plant One, number two weave room and was a member of Lane Street Baptist Church. Her husband, John C. Furr, died April 17, 1988. Survivors include a son, Johnny Fred Furr of Rockwell; a daughter, Bertha Mae Miller of Rockwell; a foster daughter, Diane McClester Mullis of Concord, three sisters, Rachel Horton and Betty Page, both of Mount Pleasant; and Ruby Steele of Davidson; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Furr, of 68, of 5756 Sapp Road, died unexpectedly on Sept 22, 1989 at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital.Endnotes
