Death

Vincent Homer Smith, 26, of Maxton, died Sunday. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Youth for Christ Church in Maxton, the Revs. Joe Jacobs, Romey Revels and T. Jerry Paul officiating. Burial will follow at the Smiling Cemetery. Surviving are seven children, Corey Allen Furr and Cora Alexis Furr, both of Prospect, Vincent H. Smith Jr. and Kendrick Smith, both of Pembroke, Tristan Smith of Maxton, Vanesha Danielle Smith of Hope Mills and Jayla Cummings of Maxton; his mother, Clinnie Smiling Smith of Maxton; a brother, Archie Anthony Smith of Maxton; and a sister, Audrey Smith Sanderson of Maxton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Youth for Christ Church in Maxton.
