Death

Virginia Jones Blick, age 88, died January 25, 2021, at The Landing at Seagrass Village memory care community in Panama City Beach, FL. Virginia was born February 2, 1932 in Hattiesburg, MS, to the late Roy and Ruth Jones. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Arts degree in English. She later met her husband Howard Blick when she taught elementary school in Natchez, MS. Virginia and Howard were married August 8, 1953 and were together 61 years until Howard's death in May 2015. Virginia taught elementary school in Port St. Joe, FL for many years. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Port St. Joe. Virginia is survived by her son Robert Blick (and wife Letecia) of Tallahassee, FL; daughter Lynn Furr (and husband Jeffrey) of Port St. Joe, FL; brother Rex Jones (and wife Pam) of Hattiesburg, MS; and 3 grandchildren: Andrew Furr of Panama City, FL; Rebecca Furr of Jacksonville, FL; and Lindsay Furr of Tallahassee, FL. She was preceded in death by her brother Jim Jones of McLean, VA. Private services were held in Port St. Joe, FL, officiated by Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Lentz. All services were under the direction of Comfort Funeral Home.
