Death
Pasty Ann Furr Swindell, 74, of Kinston passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. Pasty was born July 2, 1943 to the late William “Bill” and Grace Furr. She worked at Barrus Construction Company. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at First Original Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverend Terry Coates officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Pasty was preceded in death by her beloved “Shorty” with whom she celebrated 51 years. She is survived by two daughters, Ginger Swindell Harrelson and husband Dave of Kinston, and Kellie Swindell Jones and husband Dannie of Greenville. Also left to cherish her memory are seven grandchildren that she loved deeply, Noah Jones, Matthew Jones, Summer Jones, Savanna Jones, Luke Jones, Ackery Harrelson, and Caden Harrelson. She also leaves two sisters, Kay Furr Avery and husband Ed, and Sandy Furr Taylor and husband Roland, all of Kinston, one brother, Buster Furr and wife Terri of Michigan. Special in-laws, Frankie and Patricia Swindell of Kinston, and Charles and Linda Swindell of Charleston, S.C. Pasty is also survived by many niece and nephews that loved her dearly. She also leaves behind her church family at First Original Free Will Baptist Church where she was an active member, treasurer, Ladies Auxiliary and Deacon.
