Death

Dorothy Eola Wilder Humphreys, 92, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Union County. She was born September 27, 1922 to Edward Young Wilder, Sr. and Bessie Leona Furr Wilder. She was a retired cook for the cafeteria of Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was a member of New Albany Presbyterian Church and a member of Order Of The Eastern Star (OES) New Albany Chapter. She was a former member of the Junior Auxiliary of Baptist Memorial Hospital. She adored her children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching her great grandchildren grow. She enjoyed reading the Book of Psalms. Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. Monday, September 21, 2015 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be at New Harmony Cemetery. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Humphreys Tidwell, and a son, James Thomas Humphreys, Jr. and his wife, Linda Kay Kent Humphreys, all of New Albany; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and four great - great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Humphreys, Sr., and a daughter, Linda Jordan. Pallbearers will be Dennis Farris, Trey Sprabery, Glen Davis, Carroll Thompson, Fred Stiles, Eddie Humphreys and Eddie Smith. The family request memorials be made to Joseph Warren Masonic Lodge, 106 E. Main Street, New Albany, MS 38652 or to New Albany Presbyterian Church, 605 Hwy. 15 South, New Albany, MS 38652. Visitation will be Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 4:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
