Death
Annie Mae Wilder Ledbetter, age 97, died Monday, August 4, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 6, 1917 in Hickory Flat to the late Edward Young Wilder, Sr. and Bessie Leone Furr Wilder. She was a homemaker, and a child care provider. She was a member of the Ebenezer Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church since 1933 where she taught Sunday school, helped with Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the ladies Bible study group. Annie Mae did quilting in her past time. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 the United Funeral Service Chapel with Chaplain Daryl Weathers and the Rev. Al Herrington officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer ARP Church Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany is in charge of the arrangements. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Stiles (Fred) of New Albany, a granddaughter Angela McCord (Eric) of Thaxton, two great granddaughters Chelcie Fondren and Hannah Morphis both of Thaxton, and a great great granddaughter Farrah Brooke Pearson of Thaxton, a sister Dorothy Humphreys of New Albany, and a sister-in-law Edith Wilder of New Albany. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years John Shelmon Ledbetter, four sisters Edna Barkley, Vernice Prather, Ada Cook, and Thelma Davis, two brothers Spencer Wilder and Edward Wilder, and two infants. Pallbearers will be Glen Davis, Tom Humphreys, Charles Mullins, Barry Barkley, Melvin Warrington, and Edd Dees. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 5 p.m. 'til 9 p.m. at the funeral home.Published in The Daily Journal on Aug. 5, 2014
