Death
Funeral Services for Louise Carlisle Furr, age 92, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015, will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 4:00 pm at New Palestine Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at New Palestine Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Rev. R.T. Buckley will officiate the service. A native of Smith County, MS, she was a Registered Nurse, a Red Cross Nurse Volunteer, a WWII Nurse Cadet, and a graduate of Vanderbilt University. Louise was a member of New Palestine Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. S.F. Carlisle, Sr., and Marjorie Harrelson Carlisle; her husband, Hollis Rowan Furr, Jr.; her sisters and brothers, Julia Speed, John E. Carlisle, N.L. Carlisle, Annie Jane White, Sarah Jo Carlisle, Rachel Gordon, and Mary Pearson; and her son, Sidney "Sid" Allen Furr. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara (Craig) Lynn Roberts, Hollis "Sonny" Rowan Furr, III, and Julia "Ann" (Larry) Cagle; 7 grandchildren, Candice (Jeremy) Lindseth, Shawn (Sunnie) Cagle, Colton Cagle, Joel Cagle, Tabitha (Donald) Coello, and Hope Furr; 2 great grandchildren, Taylor Lindseth and Ryder Coello; her brother, S.F. Carlisle; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
