THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Ruby Lee Ridenhour Hutchens, 78, a resident of Oaklawn Drive, died Saturday evening, October 26, 2013, in the Forsyth Medical Center. She was born August 11, 1935, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of Cletus Ridenhour and Onnie Furr Ridenhour. She was a Homemaker and a member of The Well (formerly Church of Tomorrow). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Geneva Glover and Viola Glover and brothers, Ralph Ridenhour and Hoyle “Short” Ridenhour. On December 24, 1955, she was married to Roy Hutchens, who survives of the home. Also surviving are daughters, Nancy Whitman and husband Terry and Debra Hutchens, both Thomasville; a son, Ricky Dale Hutchens and wife Katie of Thomasville; sisters, Betty Russell of Albemarle and Dianne Winfree and husband Gerald of Richfield; brothers, Cletus “Bud” Ridenhour of Richfield and Tony Ridenhour and wife Janice of Albemarle; grandchildren, Heather Carroll and husband Brandon, Erin Whitman, Kaylee Hutchens, Lauren Hutchens and Jacob Hutchens; and a great-grandson, Bram Carroll. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with Rev. Huey Turner officiating. Entombment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter Nancy at 616 Lakeview Drive, Thomasville.
