Marriage
Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Merrill announce the marriage of their daughter, Vannah Merrill, to Mr. J. T. Merrill. The ceremony was secretly performed Oct. 23. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Merrill. She is a graduate of the Clarke County A. H. S. and is popular among a wide circle of friends. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Merrill, and for some time past has been employed by Abney Motor Co. Death
Laurel -- Services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Vossburg for Vannah G. Merrell, 86, of Heidelberg, who died Feb. 19, 1995, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. The Rev. Frank Crawford will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Merrell, a homemaker, was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She ws preceded in death by her husband, J. T. Merrell. Survivors include two sons, Gilbert Merrell of New Hebron and Tracy Merrell of Laurel; one daughter, Martha M. Furr of Montgomery, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral in Laurel.Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, February 21, 1995
