Death

CONCORD Mrs. Frances Gray Dabbs Furr, 89 passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Wilkinson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Roxanne Almond and Dale Bost officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Mrs. Furr was born May 7, 1923, in Cabarrus County, as a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Ina Teeter Gray. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Dabbs. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant #6 and was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Frances was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her devoted husband, Ralph A. Furr; daughters, Nancy Mesic and husband, Cecil, of Kernersville and Patsy Floyd and husband, Jerry, of Concord; sons, Steve Dabbs and wife, Carolyn, of China Grove and Wayne Furr and wife, Brenda, of Concord; grandchildren, Gray Dabbs, Leslie and Jonathan Mesic, Heather Bell, Jeremy Furr, Tangi Teague and Tiffany Saffell; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Eudy, of Summerville, S.C. and Margaret Nation of Chester, S.C. Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 4695 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Concord, NC 28025 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Ln., Kannapolis, NC 28081.
