KANNAPOLIS Gary Wayne Gray Jr., 47, of China Grove, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at his residence. His death follows a period of declining health. Wayne was born Oct. 25, 1964, in Cabarrus County. He was the son of Gary Wayne Gray, Sr. and Janet Furr Gray. Wayne was a heating and air technician and was formerly employed by Moss & Moore Heating and Air. He was a member of Corriher Heights Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m., at Whitley's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Pethel officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home this evening, Sunday, Aug. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. In addition to his parents, Wayne is survived by his wife, Connie Black Gray; three sons, Bradley Wallace, of China Grove, and Michael Black and Alan Gray, of the home; a daughter, Brooke Gray, of the home; a sister, Lesley Goforth, of Kannapolis; and nieces, Courtney and Nevaeh, and a nephew, Devon, all of Kannapolis.
