Death
Mrs. Pauline Hege Jones, 98, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Vienna Village where she had resided since January 2016. Mrs. Jones was born January 21, 1924, in Winston-Salem, NC. She lived there with her husband most of her life with exception of a period of time when they lived in Succasunna, NJ from 1977 to 1981. Her parents were the late Charlie Marvin Hege and Dora Boose Hege. She was married to Beufort Rudolph Jones, native of Taylorsville, NC, following WWII, and they were married for 66 years. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2012. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and their husbands, Eliza H. Boger (Howard) and Ruth H. Shaw (Arthur). She worked at the Carbon Plant and Western Electric early in her life, then became a full-time homemaker. Mrs. Jones enjoyed decorating her home, shopping, visiting with friends, going to Tabor Troupers, singing with the Joy Singers, quilting, Word Search, jigsaw puzzles, and domestic travel. A highlight of her travels was a month-long trip across the US to the Pacific Northwest and the Canadian Rockies. She was a life-long, faithful member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. Surviving is her faithful daughter, Lana Jones Furr (Richard) of Advance, NC; granddaughter, Jena Rhyne (David), of Clemmons, NC; grandson, Brad Dodson of Winston-Salem, NC; great-granddaughters, Katelyn, Julianna and Lisa Rhyne of Clemmons, NC; great-grandsons, Lucas and Max Dodson of Swannanoa, NC. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Vienna Village for their loving care, patience and understanding, and attention to Mrs. Jones during her six years of residency there. The family also appreciates the kindness and visits given by Trellis Supportive Care.
