Warren Robert Widman 85; of Richmond, Va. A memorial service for Warren Robert Widman, 85, of Richmond, Va., will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2315 N. Parham Road, Richmond, Va., followed by private burial. He died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007. He was a 1940 graduate of New Albany High School and a 1943 graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. degree in business administration. While at the university he was a member of Sigma Tota, a sophomore service fraternity, The Flame Club, an upperclassman’s service fraternity, and the university pistol team. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels with more than 500 hours and a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital for more than 15 years. After 37 years with Reynolds Metals Company, he retired in October 1983 as manager, customer relations. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara W. Smith and her husband Randolph, Richmond, Va., Mary W. Furr and her husband Clyde, Knoxville, Tenn., and Anne W. Harris and her husband Charles III, Glen Allen, Va.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, Constance Vivian Lee Widman; and his parents, Dr. and Mrs. U.S. Widman of New Albany.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
