Death

Mrs. Robin Morton Furr, 53 of Leland died at home peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Mrs. Furr was born June 21, 1958 in Kanawha County, West Virginia, the daughter of James and Rosalee Martin Nelson. She loved playing the piano for the Lord, spending time with her family, helping others, and scrapbooking. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Jay Furr, her father James M. Nelson, a brother Boyd Everet Nelson, and a sister Sandra Kay Nelson. Surviving are her mother Rosalee Nelson of Shallotte, a sister Vicki Gross of Florida, two daughters Angel Roe of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Tonya Townsend and husband Tommy of Ash; five grandchildren Alex, TJ, Dalton, Zachery, and Molly. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Victory Baptist Church in Varnamtown with Reverend Leroy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday at Victory Baptist Church.
