Death

WILMINGTON — One man has died after a wreck that also injured a New Hanover County sheriff's deputy. The crash happened early Friday in Wilmington, where police say the driver crossed the median and slammed head-on into the deputy's car. Investigators identified the driver as 61-year-old Jimmy Jay Furr of Leland. They say he was not wearing a seat belt. Deputy D.M. Dombrowski was taken to a local hospital and was released later Friday. Authorities are still trying to determine what caused Furr to cross the center line.

Jimmy Jay Furr 50, of Leland went home to be with the Lord on January 06, 2012. He will be missed by all. Jimmy loved his wife Robin and had many friends in the area. He frequented areas of Jamaica as a missionary and visited many other places teaching the gospel. "I'm gonna’ tell my daddy on you, cause he loves me." We know that your daddy (God)  is glad you are home. A restful peace for you & we all know you have entered the gates with thanksgiving. Prayers for his family and friends are much appreciated.
