Ira Clyde Furr, 91, of Hopewell died Monday, January 2, 2006 in Walnut Hills Convalescent Center, Petersburg. He was born in South Hill, Virginia, and was a resident of Hopewell for most of his life. Mr. Furr served in the US Army during World War II and was a retired operator with Hercules, Inc, He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeb B. and Mary Jane Hatley Furr and a son, Dennis Wayne Furr. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 3, 2006 from 7:00 -- 8:30 p.m. at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hopewell Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Edward Bellis, Pastor of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Bermuda Memorial Park in Chesterfield County.Military
