LANDIS — The funeral for Ruby Osborne Furr will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Bewey Shaver. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home in Kannapolis tonight from 7 to 8:30 and the rest of the time at the home on Highland Avenue. Born March 17, 1915, in Ashe County, Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late Byron and Vera Roark Osborne. She was a former employee of Rose's in Kannapolis. A member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church, where she had been active in the Ruth Sunday School Class, she had been a resident of the area for 38 years. Survivors include her husband, Bryan T. Furr, a son, James C. Furr, two sisters, Thelma O. Parker of Moravian Falls and Mildred O. Sexton of Baltimore, Md. Four brothers, Howard and Bob Osborne, of Boomer, Ralph Osborne of Lakeland, Fla., and Ronald Osborne of Durham, and one grandchild. Mrs. Furr, 78, of 1102 Highland Ave. Landis, died Tuesday June 29, 1993 at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital She had been in declining health for three years and seriously ill for a month.
