Death

Ruby Mae Biles Phillips, 79, of Norwood, passed away, Mondaymorning, November 14, 2011 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Albemarle. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Norwood. Rev. Mike Shuford will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 Wednesday afternoon at EdwardsFuneral Home in Norwood. Mrs. Phillips was born April 15, 1932, to the late Joe Arthur and Lottie Honey Biles. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Norwood where she served in the United Methodist Women's group. She was co-owner and operator of Western Auto in Norwood for 36 years. She will be remembered as a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother that gave unconditionally. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Rufus Phillips and brother, Arthur Biles and sister,Louise Boettcher. She is survived by her four daughters: Bonnie Phillips Timberlake and husband Edward of Concord, Kathy Phillips Furr and husband Jimmy of Albemarle, Shelia Phillips Talbert and husband Ted of Norwood and Angela Phillips of Unionville. In addition, eight grandchildren, Stacey Lambert, Tammy Vaughan, Jody Furr, Derek Furr, April Morton, Philip Morton, Bobbie Efird and Matthew Martin. Also surviving are seven great- grandchildren, Brandon and Allyson Vaughan, Jackie, Hailey and Ian Furr, Hayden and Spencer Lambert and one brother, Bobby Biles and wife, Elvene of Norwood.
