Death

Mr. Charles L. Furr, age 92, of Centre, AL passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023. Mr. Furr was born on June 16, 1931 in Powder Springs, GA to the late Mr. George M. Furr and the late Mrs. Fannie Lou Ellis Furr. Charles proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired after working at Lockheed for 26 years. He was an active member of The Cherokee Co. Cattleman’s Association. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah “Betty” Moss Furr. Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Gail Wilkins (Ronnie) of Dallas, Donna Porter Lee of Powder Springs, Michael Furr of Acworth, Larry Furr (Beverly) of Powder Springs, and Sheila Furr of Buford. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 3:00pm from First Baptist Church Powder Springs with Rev. Dennis Bellamy officiating. Interment to follow at Powder Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to Cherokee Co.
