LOUISVILLE, Miss. Aug. 13. — Mrs. Leita Davis Rodgers, widow of Circuit Judge Henry Herman Rodgers, mother of H. D. Rodgers who teaches at Tech High School in Memphis, and Mrs. Julia R. Baker of Memphis, died yesterday morning at her home. Mrs. Rodgers was long a leader in civic, church and social affairs in Louisville. She was a life member of the Women’s Missionary Society, was a past matron of the Eastern Star and had served as president of Louisville PTA. She was also a leader in the work and projects of Louisville Methodist Church. The daughter of the late Dr. H. H. and Lelia Blumenberg Davis, Mrs. Rodgers was educated at Mississippi State College for Women. She leaves her son in Memphis her step-son, Judge Henry Lee Rodgers, who now has the same circuit his father held many years ago; four daughters, Mrs. Baker of Memphis, Mrs. Francis Furr of Pontotoc, Miss., Mrs. David B. Gross, Laurel, Miss., and Miss Ruth Rodgers, Louisville; five grandchildren and two brothers. She was a cousin of Mrs. Corinne Gates and Miss Helen Blumenberg of Memphis. Services at 4 p.m. today at First Methodist Church in Louisville, Dr. J. D. Wroten Jr. officiating. Burial in the Masonic Cemetery. Morris Funeral Home in charge.
