Death

CONCORD - Martha "Verlee" Nance Furr, 72, of 1012 Rockland Circle, Concord, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at her home. Born on May 17, 1938, in Cabarrus County to the late Milard Clide and Ola Virginia Hill Nance. She is also preceded in death by daughter Vonnie Lynn Furr and a sister Arlene Wilson. Mrs. Furr was a member of First Assembly Church, and was a cook there at the First Assembly School. The family meeting place will be the home at 1012 Rockland Circle Concord. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord Chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, with the Rev. Tom Whidden and Rev. Ray Helms officiating. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. She was survived by her husband, William Franklin "Bill" "Nootz" Furr, Sr. of the home; sons, William Franklin Furr Jr. of Harrisburg, Michael Furr and wife, Connie Lynn of New London; daughter, Connie Elizabeth Furr of China Grove; sister, Macene Deaton of Concord; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
