Death
MIDLAND John Wesley Cauble, 73, of Midland, surrounded by his loving family, passed away at his home Wednesday, July 31, 2013. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Assembly in Albemarle, Saturday, Aug. 3, at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. The Rev. Jeff Kidd will officiate. The Revs. Bob Gruver and George Mullen will speak at the service. Burial will follow the service at the Oak Grove Methodist Church cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Cauble was born at home June 27, 1940, to the late J.W. Cauble and the late Marie Furr Cauble, of Finger, N.C. He was the first of seven sons, who were referred to by their mom as "my boys". He graduated from Millingport High School in 1958. He served nine years in the Badin unit of the Air National Guard. He was an electrician with Alcoa of Badin, where he retired with 30 years of service. John was a member of First Assembly of God in Albemarle where he served as an usher and a member of the mission field leadership team. In addition to his parents, a brother, Tony Cauble; a daughter, Beverly Cauble Huneycutt; and a step grandson, Freddy Mays, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Towns Cauble, of the home; daughters, Starla Cauble Hill and husband, Roney, of Albemarle; Tisha Cauble Hannah and husband, Todd, of Hartland, Wis.; a stepdaughter, Sherri Plummer and husband, Doug, of Locust; a stepson, Bryan Towns, of Kingsport, Tenn.; brothers, Jerry Cauble and wife, Brenda, of Mt. Pleasant, Dolan Cauble and wife, Sandra, of Mt Pleasant, Tim Cauble and wife, Natalie, of Mt. Pleasant, Terry Cauble and wife, Robin, of Mt. Pleasant and Sam Cauble and wife, Gail, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Georgette Lancaster for her dedication to John and his entire family during his illness. Her tender, loving care and willingness to meet every need cheerfully was a blessing that always went "the extra mile". In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Care Caf‚ P.O. Box 1022, 1003 Meadow St., Albemarle, NC 28002 or to Alzheimer's Association of Western NC, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215. Gordon's Funeral Home of Mt.
