Death
Mrs. Carrie T. Furr, 87, of 2215 Chambers St., died today at 4:30 a.m. in High Point Memorial Hospital following a prolonged illness. She was born Sept. 15, 1887, in Tazwell County, Va., a daughter of William and Lizzie Stevenson Harrell. She spent most of her life in Bluefield, W.Va., and came to High Point seven years ago to make her home with her sister. She was employed by Matts Hotel in Bluefield as a hostess for many years. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church of High Point. Her husband, R. C. Furr, died many years ago. Surviving is her sister, Mrs. Martha Shelton of the home; one niece and two nephews. Funeral will be held in Calvin C. Orrell Liberty Road Chapel Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m., and at the home.Endnotes
