Notes
Death
Mr. A. W. H. Price, a well known citizen of Goose Creek township, died at his home Sunday morning at an early hour. He had been in declining health for some time and for about six weeks had been confined to his home. The remains were buried at Hopewell on Sunday and funeral services were held by Rev. A. Marsh and Rev. E. C. Snyder. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James Furr, and two sons, Messrs. T. L. Price and J. R. Price. He was 74 years old and was an old soldier who was wounded at the battle of the Wilderness. Mr. Price was a charter member of Hopewell Baptist church, and one of the best of men. He was devoted to his family. For twenty-five years his wife was an invalid and required constant attention, day and night. All the years of devotion which he and the children gave her was remarkable. After her death, and Mr. Price himself became sick, his children have equal and sincere devotion to him. A devoted husband, a kind father, and a true christian has gone to his reward. The Monroe Journal, Monroe, North Carolina, July 13, 1915
