Death
Requiem Mass for George E. Lucas will be held Saturday morning in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mr. Lucas died in a local hospital Thursday morning. Officiating will be the Rev. Father George Martinez. A native of Bay St. Louis Mr. Lucas was a resident of Monroe, since 1948. He was a local road way contractor and he served on the usher board of the Lady of Fatima Church. Interment will be in the Metairie cemetery in New Orleans. Rosary service was held at 7: 30 p.m. Thursday night in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marion Furr Lucas; one son, George Edward Lucas; two daughters, Martha Kaye Lucas and Janice Marie Lucas, all of Monroe; his mother, Mrs. Edward E. Lucas, New Orleans; one sister, Mrs. J. F. Gauthier, New Orleans; two brothers, Wheeler L. Lucas of New Orleans, and Edward J. Lueas, North Palm Beach, Florida. Pallbearers will be H. W. Brown, Archie B. Dowdle, J. B. Renaud, George Sumrall, Leo Ritter and Joe Clements, Jr.Morning World, Monroe, Louisiana, October 14, 1961
