Death

Nita McDonald McSwain, 88, of North Charleston, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in Hallmark Health Care Center in Summerville. Graveside funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at 1 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery in Georgetown. Burial will follow under the direction of Graham Funeral Home of Georgetown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Mrs. McSwain was born Aug. 12, 1913, in Georgetown County, a daughter of the late Peter Thomas Bellflower and Lottie Elizabeth Owens Bellflower. She was a long time resident of Goose Creek before moving to North Charleston in 1997. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was first married to the late John Chester McDonald. Surviving are a son, John C. McDonald of Goose Creek; a daughter, Betty M. Densler of North Charleston; a brother, Benny R. Bellflower of Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Cherry McKnight of Georgetown; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
