Death

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Hattiesburg for Frances F. Ryan, 81, of Hattiesburg, who died Dec. 28, 1997, at her residence. The Rev. Dennis Ryan will officiate. Interment will be in Roseland Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Ryan, Adam Ryan, Matthew Ryan, Andrew Ryan, Michael Simmons, Mitchell and Michael Harrell. Mrs. Ryan was a Roxie native and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and was a member of St. Anne’s Guild. She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and a former teacher at the Mississippi School for the Deaf in Jackson. She was a lifetime member of the Junior Auxiliary, member of the Azalea Garden Club and the Shakespearian Club and also served on the YWCA Board of Directors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome B. Ryan Sr. Survivors include three sons: Jerome B. Ryan Jr. and Michael E. Ryan, both of Hattiesburg, and David B. Ryan of Hinesburg, Vt.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church. Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Frances and Jerome Ryan Scholarship Fund at the University of Southern Mississippi Foundation.
