Notes
Marriage
Mr. M. N. Furr, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Furr of Hervey, was married at Jackson on July 15th to Miss Mabel Evans of that city. In its account of the marriage the Jackson News says: "Out on West Capitol street, just opposite the beautiful stretch of Poindexter park, there was solemnized a happy marriage which hound for all eternity the hearts of the two young people, Mr. M. N. Furr of Roxie, Miss., and Miss Mabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W . Evans of this city. Mr Furr is a young man who holds an excellent position with the Y. & M. V. railroad, at Roxie, and his bride will at once go into her sweet home there to give it, in her husband's eye, the long desired touch of completion and perfection. Happily, they have a common faith, and so their united lives give promise of greatest happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Furr hade their relatives and friends good-bye and started forth upon their wedding journey as upon their life together, their honeymoon plans embracing an extended trip throughout the great northwest, every mile of which will show its wonders and every hour its joys."Death
Services were held Saturday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home chapel for Mrs. Maurice N. (Mable E.) Furr, 85, of Regency Square Apartments, who died Friday at her residence. Dr. Brooks H. Wester officiated. Burial was at Lakewood. Memorial Park in Jackson. Pallbearers were Jerome Ryan Jr., Mike Ryan, R. M. Randolph, William R. Thomas, Carl R. Nicholson and Richard C. Turner. She is survived by one daughter, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister.Endnotes
