Death
Mrs. Betty Jean Furr, age, 24, of 2041 Townsend Ave., died Tuesday, December 28, 1965 as the result of an auto accident. Born October 29, 1941 in Pageland, S. C., she was the daughter of James H. and Bernice Mills Howard, She was a receptionist for the St. Joe Paper Co. and member of Chadwick Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m, Thursday, December 30th, in the McEwen West Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Fred R. Love of Concord, the Rev. W. Jack Hudson, minister of Northside Baptist Church, and the Rev. Herbert Dale, minister of Johnston Memorial Presbyterian Church. Interment in Oaklawn Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy J. Furr; two sons, Anthony Alan Furr and Stanley Robin Furr of the home; her mother, sister, Mrs. Joseph Burkeen and brother, Jimmy T. Howard, all of Charlotte. Pallbearers will be nephews.Endnotes
