Notes
Death
Charles Dewitt Furr, age 77, of Lakeland, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He was born one of five children to the late Hilman and Gladys Furr in Oxford, MS on October 30, 1943. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tyna, and brothers Bill and Hilman. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Furr, and their children; Amy Rogers (Stefan), Scott Furr, and Jason Furr. He was the proud grandfather to 5 grandchildren; Holden Rogers, Pierce Rogers, Peyton Rogers, Hannah Furr, and Emily Furr. Charles thoroughly enjoyed time spent with family. He loved the large family gatherings in Pinson, TN. One of his favorite things to do was take yearly vacations to the beach when his children were growing up. While he loved being near the ocean, he and Patsy took several trips together to many other places and made wonderful memories. Charles was proud of his 27 year career at FedEx. He loved working at FedEx and made many friends there, several of whom he never lost touch with and will surely miss him. He retired in the year 2000. While he liked his work, he enjoyed his retirement years very much. If you knew Charles, you knew he could talk to anyone for hours and was often willing to lend a helping hand. We hope he is fondly remembered. There will be no services.Endnotes
