Death
Hilman S. Furr, Jr., age 78, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born December 28, 1937 to the late Hilman Stacy, Sr. and Gladys Appleton Furr. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Crenshaw Baptist Church. Hilman was a proud Army veteran and cherished his large family. A visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Jerry King officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley with Walt Thompson, Mike Hall, Jim True, Jerry Johnson, and Chuck Livingston serving as pallbearers. Randall Lloyd, Robert Welch and David Green will serve as honorary pallbearers. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shelby Johnson Furr of Water Valley; his daughter, Terry (Clyde) Creel of Jacksonville, FL; his son, Perry (Corliss) Furr of Water Valley; two brothers, Charles (Patsy) Furr of Memphis, TN and Donald (Anna) Furr of Warriors Mark, PA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Furr; his sister, Tyna Furr; and his brother, Bill Furr.Endnotes
