Death
J.J. Hobson, a resident of the Pecan neighborhood, eight miles northeast of Breckenridge, died at his home. He had been living in Stephens County since 1885 and was nearing 70 years of age. He was well liked by all who knew him and was very popular. J.J. Hobson was playing croquet on his lawn with some boys and seemed happy and in the best of health. After the evening meal, he and his wife sat out on the porch. In 30 minutes, he had passed away. J.J. Hobson was a noble citizen and a Christian gentleman of the highest order. Two daughters - Mrs. Joe Furr and Mrs. Bowes were on a vacation trip to the state of Washington and were notified. The Grimes boys, who were nephews, lived with him. A third daughter, who lives in Stephens County was also notified.Endnotes
