Death
Services for Mrs George C. Furr of 623 Pecan, who died unexpectedly at her home late Friday, will be held at 2 pm Sunday at Mclnnis Porter Funeral Home. Dr F. K Horton will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge. Mrs Furr, the wife of a Clarksdale physician, was the former Bessie Dale Griffin. She was born and reared near Clarksdale and had lived in the city for about 20 years. Mrs Furr graduated from Clarksdale High School and attended Bowling Green, Ky Business College. She was a member and former secretary of the Clarksdale and Six County Medical Society Auxiliary and a former member of the Clarksdale Garden Club and the local Parent-Teacher Association. She was a member of the Oakhurst Baptist Church. Mrs Furr leaves, in addition to her husband, a daughter, Mrs Edgar Alien, a student at Delta State College at Cleveland, and a sister, Mrs Wayne S. Orr of 831 Pecan. The family requests that no flowers be sent.Endnotes
