Death
Katherine Furr, 89, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, at her home in Lawrenceville, Ga. Katherine loved serving Coahoma County for 16 years as a county supervisor. She was a very dedicated lady. Survivors include: her son, Jim Furr, III, of Buford, Ga.; daughter, Kathy (Bob) Olsen, of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, W.E. “Edmond” (Carolyn) Young, Jr., of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Hutson Olsen and Duncan Olsen; two nephews, Will (Dawn) Young of Bobo and David Young of Salina, Kansas; and two great-nephews, Will Young and Andrew Young. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Young, Sr; and her husband, James E. Furr. Visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksdale. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow in the Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale.
