Notes
Death
The city was shocked Sunday morning by news of the death of Thomas C. Crawford which occurred that morning at 4 o'clock, only twelve hours after he took to his bed. Mr. Crawford had been ailing for sometime but kept about his business and on Saturday seemed to be in his usual health, mingling with the large crowd in his happy hearty way. The funeral services were held at the family residence Monday afternoon, conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. H. Morgan, assisted by Rev. W. H. Hill. Brookhaven Masons and Woodmen had charge of the burial. A large number of friends gathered at the home and at the cemetery to pay their last respects to one whom they esteemed. Mr. Crawford was a native of Mississippi, 58 years of age. He leaves a widow, five daughters and two sons, who are sadly bereft in his passing.Endnotes
