Notes
Death
In Memory of W. C. Furr. After an illness of five weeks of intense suffering, Mr. W. C. Furr closed his earthly career Oct. 5th, 1902. He was born July 16th, 1856, three miles south east of Wesson, Miss., and lived and died at the old home. He never married, feeling it his duty to remain and care for his widowed mother and others who were dependent upon him; and like a tower of strength he stood in the home, while the storms swept by, to protect and sweeten the life of her whom he called “mother.” He was an honorable, upright citizen; a kind and obliging neighbor, and a true friend in time of need. He will be greatly missed in the neighborhood; and when long years have gone and others may have been forgotten, his place will still be vacant in the home. He never made a public profession of religion, but expressed his regrets at not having made public the faith and love that for years had lain unexpressed in his heart. Those who knew him have no doubt but that he has entered into rest, and is now with the Savior whom he loved. And now, mother, brother and sisters, let us commend you to Him who doeth all things well. Remember that He is wise and good, and though clouds may hang over your path now, the light will come in the morning of the unending and cloudless day. By his friends: J. A. LEE. R. H. PURSEREndnotes
